Terms of Use

By using SnoutCheck you agree to the terms below. They are deliberately brief, and nothing in them is hidden in a subordinate clause.

The content

We wrote the dog health and symptoms content here and we keep the rights to it. Personal use is the point of publishing; lifting an entire page for another site is not personal use. A quoted sentence with attribution is fine.

Fair use of the site

  • Read, print and share links freely. That is what the site is for.
  • Do not scrape the site wholesale, automated or otherwise, and do not run it through a tool that republishes it elsewhere.
  • Do not present our text as your own, translated or reworded.
  • Do not attempt to break, overload or probe the site.

Product names

Any trademark referred to remains the property of its owner. Naming a product is how you write usefully about it; it does not mean the maker endorses us or we represent them.

Availability

Expect the site to change. Pages are corrected, restructured and now and then taken down, and there is no undertaking that any URL will keep working or keep saying the same thing.

Privacy and cookies

These terms sit next to the privacy policy and the cookie policy, which cover data and cookies respectively and are part of the same agreement.

The limits of what you read here

None of this constitutes professional advice, and it should not be the last thing you read before an expensive or risky decision. General information is what a website can honestly offer.

What we can and cannot promise

We verify before publishing and we still cannot certify that a value transfers to your setup unchanged. Read every number as a place to start.

Your contributions

Comments, where enabled, remain your words. Posting one gives us leave to publish it on the page. Moderation is not a negotiation: spam, abuse and self-promotion go.

Liability limits

Where the law lets us limit it, our liability for anything that follows from using this site is excluded, direct or indirect. Nothing in this paragraph tries to exclude what the law says cannot be excluded.

Outbound links

Where a source is worth reading we link to it. Those sites are run by other people and we answer for none of their content.

Advertising and links

How the site pays for itself, advertising and affiliate links, is set out in full on the affiliate disclosure page rather than summarised here.

Governing law

These terms are read under the law of the United States and the state in which the site is operated. If a court finds one clause unenforceable, the rest continues to apply. Nothing here removes a right you hold under consumer law that cannot be waived.

What is covered

These terms, with the privacy and cookie policies, are the whole of what governs your use of the site. No email exchange, comment thread or social media reply adds to them or takes anything away, and no member of the public can vary them on our behalf.

If these terms change

Revisions happen when our practice or the law changes. What you read here is what applies; there is no archived version competing with it, and no notification beyond this page.
