I am Cassiel, and I run SnoutCheck with my colleagues Tova Elliston and Rowan Kadera. Messages come to us directly, so the person answering is the one who wrote and sourced the article you are asking about. We read everything and reply within a few weekdays.
One thing before the form: if your dog is unwell right now, please do not wait on an email from us. Call your veterinarian, or one of the lines below for an urgent suspected poisoning. We cannot examine your dog, and a worried owner with a sick animal needs a vet, not a website.
- ASPCA Animal Poison Control: aspca.org/pet-care/animal-poison-control (24/7, fee may apply)
- Pet Poison Helpline: petpoisonhelpline.com (24/7, fee may apply)
- Your local emergency vet — keep the number on the fridge before you need it.
What we can help with by email
- An article on the site. If something we wrote is unclear, contradicted by your own vet, or needs a correction, tell us. We update articles when we are wrong; the version history stays in the editorial record.
- A topic suggestion. If there is a dog-health question owners ask each other and the existing internet answers are thin or contradictory, we want to know. We do not promise to cover every request, but the editorial queue is partly driven by what readers actually ask.
- A source you want us to read. Peer-reviewed studies, AVMA / AAHA / Cornell / Merck Vet Manual references, or a vet who is willing to be quoted on the record — send it.
- Partnership or press. Send context, not a one-line pitch. Any commercial relationship goes through the affiliate disclosure.
What we cannot help with by email
- Diagnosing your dog. We will not tell you what is wrong from a photo or a description. That is what a vet exam is for.
- Dosing advice. Even when a medication is listed on the site, the dose for your dog comes from your vet, not from us.
- Emergencies. If you think it is one, treat it like one. Use the phone numbers above.
